25 to Life is a lifelessly generic shooter that, at times, feels like Max Payne without the fun.
In 25 to Life, you can play as either a cop or a gangster. Set in the heart of today's cities, the game lets you experience the gritty lifestyles of police task forces or, as a gangster, survive the local neighborhood thugs while fighting your way up the ranks.
Throughout the early and mid '90s, there was a boom in movies that took place in "the hood." This urban-themed movie trend really kicked off due to the success of John Singleton's Boyz n the Hood. After that, the "me too" phenomenon kicked in, and there was suddenly a glut of gangsta movies--the quality of each steadily declining the further in you got. The same phenomenon is happening with games. While games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas stand out as Boyz n the Hood or Juice equivalents, we're also getting our video game equivalents of junk like Tales From the Hood or (shudder) Phat Beach. 25 to Life is the latest in line, and this third-person shooter is, in a word, dumb.
25 to Life is an overly simple third-person shooter that has a story-driven single-player mode and a team-based multiplayer mode. The single-player starts you out in the role of Freeze, a gangster who's trying to get out of the game and escape with his wife and son. You're asked to do "one last job," which, of course, goes spectacularly wrong and messes everything up. You'll also play as a cop surrounded by dirty cops and as a gang leader who gets banished to Mexico only to end up taking over the organized-crime scene there by force. The story is all over the place, and since the playable characters are to a certain extent connected, you're never really sure if you're playing as a good guy or a bad guy. But the narrative is so lame that you probably won't care.
The single-player action boils down to hiding around corners, popping out, and mowing down as many enemies as you can. You'll come across a bunch of different weapons--including pistols, dual pistols, submachine pistols, assault rifles, and even a LAW rocket launcher or two. In case you're silly enough to get up close, you'll also be packing a melee weapon, such as a knife or a hammer or something. There's almost always enough ammo around to prevent you from having to turn to your melee weapons, and there's usually enough health around--at least on the default difficulty setting--to prevent the game from ever being too difficult, assuming you're careful and don't stand out in the open. An onscreen radar displays enemy positions, which is good for letting you know when you're safe and when you've got trouble coming around the corner.
The environments vary, giving you outdoor and indoor levels to play in. You'll run through some Los Angeles-like streets, rob a bank and a casino, run through the streets of Tijuana, and break out of a prison during a riot. There's a good amount of variety, though none of the environments are particularly noteworthy. Most simply contain singular paths that take you from start to finish as you blast your way through the game's short story mode.
As you play through single-player, you'll be unlocking new custom items for use in the multiplayer. The team-based multiplayer is cops versus criminals for up to 16 players in four modes. War is your basic team deathmatch. Raid puts the criminals on the defensive as they protect their stash from the cops. Robbery puts a series of loot items on the map, which criminals must steal and return to their base while the cops try to prevent them from doing so. Tag pits criminals against criminals in a graffiti war. The taggable walls act as control points, and it's up to your team to hold down as much of the map as possible to earn points. If you like, you can disable or limit respawns to adjust the finality of death.
While the multiplayer setup's focus on team games makes it resemble Sony's popular SOCOM series at a glance, you won't find any of that game's tactical elements here. Death comes quickly if you expose yourself to enemy fire for too long. Overall, it's a simple mode that doesn't beat out its competition on any of the three platforms.
25 to Life is available on the PC, the Xbox, and the PlayStation 2, and the experience is roughly the same across all three platforms. The PC offers slightly better control, with its standard mouse-and-keyboard setup, but the Xbox and the PS2 versions control just fine. However, a bug in the PC version caused all of the music to constantly skip, forcing us to disable it. The Xbox and the PS2 versions come with a soundtrack CD, though it is conveniently missing all of the game's best music, while the PC version comes with a Freeze playing card for use with the collectible card game Street Warriors.
Graphically, the game isn't much to look at. The bland environments and generic character animation stick out, and the rag doll-like physics of falling bodies look cheap, especially when dead bodies clip right through solid objects. The sound effects are similarly standard--you've heard gunfire in a video game before, right? The voice acting is passable, though the script's low quality negates any of the game's better voice actors. The soundtrack is a quality mix of hip-hop, both old and new. It's good, which makes the PC version's music bug all the more disappointing. Containing classics from Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy ("Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" plays during the prison riot scene, which is a perfect fit, even if your in-game motive doesn't match the song's), it's the high point of the entire package.
While 25 to Life works as intended, the third-person shooting doesn't differentiate itself in any way, making it feel like a sad Max Payne clone--lacking that game's style and acrobatic shot-dodge maneuvers. The multiplayer is functional, yet thoroughly unexciting. Even if you're a fan of the subject matter, you could certainly do better than 25 to Life.

The gameplay of Snow Bros is very similar to Bubble Bobble, released in 1986. The game supports up to two players, with each player taking the part of one of two snowmen Nick and Tom. Each player can throw snow at the enemies. The player must throw snow at each enemy until it is completely covered, when it turns into a snowball. An enemy partially covered in snow cannot move until it shakes it off.
Once an enemy has been turned into a snowball the player can roll it. The snowball will re-bound off walls, until eventually shattering against a wall. Any enemies the snowball rolls into are eliminated and other stationary snowballs start rolling when the rolling snowball touches them. If the player manages to take out all of the enemies with kicking one snowball (this one snowball may be used to make others bounce around as well and increase the chances to pull this trick off), money in the form of large green bills will fall from the sky. These disappear in a very short amount of time but are worth 10,000 points each, the most the player can get as a bonus. Every tenth level there is a boss. Each boss can sustain being hit a number of times. In Sega Genesis port, after the 50th level, you play as one of the snow castle princesses. When a player bowls an enemy over, it may drop a lantern. The color of the lantern lets the player know what special power-up he or she will acquire:
- Red increases walking speed.
- Blue increases amount of snow thrown, thus making it easier to cover an enemy in snow.
- Yellow increases the distance that snow can be thrown.
Green causes your character to inflate like a balloon while having the ability to fly around screen and knock out enemies for a limited period of time. The effects of the red, blue, and yellow lanterns wear off after the player loses a life. If the player takes too much time to complete a level an evil pumpkin head will come and try to kill the player character. It is invincible but can be stunned and sent to appear somewhere else in the level with snowballs or snow shots. After a short time the evil pumpkin will spawn ghosts that can travel freely through the level and seek the player character. These ghosts can't be killed or stunned, so the player's only hope is to avoid them while eliminating the rest of the enemies to move on to the next screen as soon as possible.

If you're looking for a unique twist on the single-player PC shooter, then Dead to Rights is worth your while.
Dead to Rights is about a K-9 cop named Jack Slate, who does what he can to keep the peace in a criminal cesspool called Grant City. At the beginning of the game, Slate and his trusty dog Shadow are investigating a mysterious construction site. There, Slate discovers that someone very close to him has been murdered. Against direct orders, he sets off to find some answers and to seek revenge. The story, as told through Jack's deadpan narration and the occasional CG cutscene, seems pretty straightforward at first. During the course of the game, however, it actually takes some decent twists and eventually becomes quite involving. The best that can be said for it is that, unlike most stories in games, this one does a commendable job of tying up all its loose ends before the credits roll.
Superficially, Dead to Rights unquestionably resembles Max Payne. This is mostly because that game, like Dead to Rights, is clearly inspired by a certain breed of action movies, the most notable of which is probably The Matrix. Like Max Payne, Dead to Rights is the tale of a fugitive cop who's apparently fighting alone in his war against a sinister, corrupt organization. Even the game's respective main characters have a lot in common. Their names sound alike, their dialogue is hammy and melodramatic, they shrug off bullet wounds, they shoot rapidly with two pistols at once, and when they leap through the air, all the action around them slows down. That's a lot of similarities, but that's also where the similarities end.
Dead to Rights plays differently from Max Payne--and from most other action games, for that matter. Most of the game consists of third-person action sequences in which Slate has to gun down countless foes before reaching his next objective. Just as the plot in Dead to Rights offers up a few surprises, so does the gameplay. Simple yet inventive minigames frequently figure into the action, as Slate will have to do all kinds of things, from disarming bombs to lifting weights to picking locks. These minigames rely on precise timing and/or button mashing, and they make for fun diversions. Also, Slate will have to fight unarmed in a number of sequences. Fortunately, he can switch to unarmed combat in the middle of a gunfight.
There's a lot to say about the action in Dead to Rights because Slate is a versatile fighter. He can carry a number of different firearms at once, and the game features a wide selection of real-world pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and more. He'll typically salvage these from fallen foes, but he wastes no time reloading, opting instead to coolly toss aside depleted weapons. Aiming in Dead to Rights is automatic. You just press and hold the right mouse button, and Slate will draw a bead on the closest foe. Once that enemy goes down, you press the right mouse button again to find your next target. You can also opt to manually aim from a first-person perspective. This rarely figures into play, though you'll sometimes need to do so when using sniper rifles.
We experienced a major bug in the first level of the game, which prevented us from playing any further. Publisher Hip Games quickly addressed the problem with a patch, and the rest of the time we spent with the game was spent without incident. Or, rather, it was spent without any additional technical foibles, as the game itself is full of "incidents" and pure action. Though Dead to Rights looks like a watered-down port of an aging console game (in fact, its looks were never its strong suit), its gameplay still holds up and survives the translation intact. It's not just another cookie-cutter shooter but plays differently in a number of key ways. So if you're looking for a unique twist on the single-player PC shooter, then Dead to Rights is worth your while.

London racer 2 is the sequel to the game London Racer also known as m25 Racer developed by Davilex. I've got to say that I enjoyed M25 Racer more and I really think London Racer 2 is definitely not the greatest racer arcade I have played. London Racer 2 is an arcade racing game, in which you enter an illegal street race organization as a rookie. This organization sets up illegal races on the m25 and in London and Oxford. In this hierarchic organization you start in the small league, but when you're good enough, they let you enter the "Luxury sports car league" but at the end, you'll be trying to reach the ultimate league: the "GT Racer League". During the leagues, you try to go faster and faster through buying extras and power-ups for your car to tune it up. By finishing higher in the leagues, you'll earn more money with which you can buy even better cars or upgrade your current car. You'll be able to get money and other items like, nitro boosts and -fixing icons-, which naturally fixes your car, by picking them up during the race. The game offers various cars types including bonus cars that can be used only by finishing some levels. It also offers two sorts of gameplay:
The single player part include three game modes: Tournament, which contains three different competitions: small cars race, luxury sport car race and GT race cars race. Time trial, where you race for the best time without worrying about opponents. And finally single race, where you race on a separate track of your choice.
Then there's the multiplayer part, which includes two game modes: Duel, and Cop vs. Racer. It also offers various courses in a variety of cities around the world, like London, Edinburgh, New York, Las Vegas and Chicago.
Graphics
For a start the game graphics aren't too bad, but it is definitely not as great as it could've been. The graphics aren't realistic, which make the game less fun to play. The game's environment lacks quality, and could've been a lot more detailed. But still I have to say that the environment of the courses include a number of items like: coffee tables, street lights, cars, buses, construction cones and more, which add a lot to the race atmosphere. But still, some of those items look shallow and with too little detail, especially the traffic cars. I have to add that I liked the character design, because each of them has their own personality that reflects the car design. You can use three different driving view modes: hood view, bumper view and rear view. I know doesn't matter to some people, but I must say that the game's menu design really lacks in colors, and basically look shallow.
The performance of the game in terms of graphics is good, but it does have a few minor bugs, for example some of the environment objects like the street lights often blurs. I also want to mention that the car crashing graphics are really unrealistic - for example when you crash into objects you can notice a couple of sparks of fire that looks very unrealistic. Secondly, I want to mention that I liked the idea of racing round on famous sites around the world like Buckingham Palace, the Big Ben and others. But still I only liked the idea behind the environment design and not the design itself, and that's because the lack of realistic graphics.
Sound
London racer 2 offers a general race game sounds which includes: great thrilling race music, sounds effects like police sirens, car sounds effects like car engines, tires, brake sounds, crash sound, environment sounds like birds, traffic sound effects and more. Along with the car radio which adds a lot to the gameplay.
The one thing I really liked in London Racer 2 is the sound. When you start to drive you can listen to the radio songs and programs that can really make you laugh. The addition of the radio really makes the game a lot more fun to play. In general the game sound effects quality is average - London Racer 2 doesn't offer outstanding music/sound. But as I said earlier it adds a lot to the atmosphere.
Gameplay
First of all I most say that the control of the car is very unrealistic and not fun to play. The car steering is very hard and tight. The artificial intelligence of the cop cars is not good either, and even has a few bugs. For example I often noticed that the cop car ran into buildings, and sometimes the cops didn't even chase me after I broke traffic rules.
London Racer 2 isn't a realistic game, in regards of physics either. Speaking of which, the sense of gravity is really strange at times. For example, when you accelerate and hit some object, like cars or walls, your car rises into the air like it was a feather, and if you hit a street light it brake right out of its place like a toothpick and flies away.
Multiplayer
As I already mentioned London Racer 2 offers just a local one, including two game modes: the first one is a duel, where you race against your friend in split screen mode. The second mode is "Cop VS Racer", where the cops have to destroy or catch up with the racer in order to win, and the racer has to survive for some time in order to win. The game offers a simple local multiplayer that can be fun for a little while.

The demo also pushes beyond the scope of the original, offering a "free roam" mode to explore the cityscape and challenge competitors at will, two types of "quick races" on two different tracks, and the ability to race other drivers online.
The graphics are the most obvious improvement. We only can describe them as truly awesome, even on lower settings. Lights on the bridge sparkle in the night sky, and mannequins in store windows catch your eye as you blaze past. Little things, such as pumping your hydraulics and bouncing down the avenue, make the experience even more fun. Racing is arcade style (it's awfully hard to destroy your car) and easy to learn, yet power drifting is an acquired skill that keeps the learning curve gradual, but long. The only knocks on this top-notch driving game are the ubiquitous product placements (a Cingular messaging system?), high system requirements, and large download size. Considering the depth and quality of Need for Speed Underground 2, though, most gamers can forgive those details.

Information
Max Payne (voiced by James McCaffrey) is a fugitive DEA agent and former NYPD detective whose wife Michelle and newborn daughter were killed in connection with the Valkyr drug case. Max then goes undercover in the mob, and eventually becomes a one-man-army vigilante waging a personal war on crime (and in particular, those criminals responsible for his family's death). Max ends up killing hundreds of gangsters and conspiracy enforcers while on the run from the police determined on stopping his vendetta against all those responsible for his family's death. He uses metaphors and wordplay to describe the world around him within his inner monologues, which often contradict his external responses to characters he speaks with. The first game presents the story as retold by Max from his point of view.
Characters
Mona Sax (voiced by Julia Murney): The twin sister of Lisa Punchinello and a contract killer, Mona is the femme fatale of the game. She has a grudge against her sister Lisa's abusive husband, Mafia boss Angelo Punchinello, whom she desires to kill. After Puchinello is killed, she sides with Nicole Horne who hires her to kill Max. Finding herself unable to do so, she is shot in the head by Horne's henchmen and collapses into an elevator. She reappears in the sequel as a playable character.
Nicole Horne (voiced by Jane Gennaro): The game's main antagonist who led a secret military program code-named Valhalla. She had Michelle Payne killed after she viewed a document that shows that Horne is still producing the Valkyr drug despite the fact that the project was suspended. Horne commands a well-armed private army of hitmen and mercenaries. She is killed by Max at the end of the game.
Alfred Woden (voiced by John Randolph Jones): For most of the game he remains a mysterious unseen character, only interacting with Max through phone calls where he either warns him of a coming threat or provides information. Towards the end of the game he meets Max face-to-face and introduces him to an Illuminati-like society known as the Inner Circle. Woden tells Payne that Horne is his real enemy and expresses his wishes for Payne to get rid of her. He is seemingly gunned down by Horne's men while in a meeting with Max, but is later seen on a security terminal getting up off the ground and leaving his dead comrades. He reappears in the sequel as a U.S. senator.
Don Angelo Punchinello (voiced by Joe Ragno): An Italian mob boss who distributes Valkyr and become involved in a gang war against the Russians. He remains the main villain throughout most of the game until it was discovered that he was being controlled by Horne. He is later killed by her before he can give Max too much information.
Vinnie Gognitti (voiced by Joe Dallo): A high-strung mobster working for Lupino who is terrified that his boss will kill him due to Lupino's Valkyr-induced psychosis. Max confronts him to discover where he can find Lupino, but this encounter results in Payne shooting Gognitti in the gut and then pursuing him through the city's buildings and rooftops. When Max catches up with him he forces the information out of Gognitti and leaves him bleeding in an alley (in the 1998 trailer Vinnie was shown being summarily executed by Payne in a cut scene, but this was changed later along with an other tweaks to the story). He reappears in the sequel as a Mafia underboss.
Vladimir Lem (voiced by Dominic Hawksley): A Russian mob boss and prominent gunrunner currently in a war against Angelo Punchinello. He teams up with Max providing him with weapons in one part of the game and occasionally chauffering him around to key locations. He reappears in the sequel as a charismatic restauranteer who maintains his shady connections in organized crime. He is portrayed by Marko Saaresto of Poets of the Fall (a friend of the game's writer Sam Lake). The band also wrote the main theme, "Late Goodbye", for Max Payne 2.
Jack Lupino (voiced by Jeff Gurner): A Mafia underboss and an occultist, who oversees Valkyr distribution for the Punchinello crime syndicate. He has been driven crazy by his Valkyr addiction and has become a Satanist, obsessed with making a Faustian pact with the Devil (he also owns Necronomicon, a fictional book from the Cthulhu Mythos and Cthulhu is one of the deities he worships). When Max confronts him he is the middle of a Satanic prayer; a gun fight ensues and Lupino is killed by Payne.
B.B. Hensley (voiced by Adam Grupper): A corrupt DEA agent and a supposed friend of Max. Receiving pay outs from Horne, he radios Max telling him to meet agent Alex Balder at the train station and then shoots Balder dead, framing Max for his murder. Towards the end of the game he meets Max and is revealed as a traitor working for Horne. Payne kills him in a gun fight.
Deputy Chief Jim Bravura (voiced by Peter Appel): A high-ranking NYPD officer who is pursuing Max for most of the game and is not deterred in arresting him, even though the TV commentators don't see the violence as a bad thing because mobsters are the only victims. At the end he finally arrests Max, but in the game's sequel he becomes Max's boss.
Michelle Payne (voiced by Haviland Morris): Working for the district attorney’s office, Michelle came across a file that incriminated Horne, which later led to her murder and the killing of her child by Valkyr junkies sent to her home. She repeatedly appears through the game in flashback and nightmare sequences.

Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup is a decent first effort at simulating the chosen sport of wizards, it falls short of its promise primarily because of sluggish controls.
The games based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter franchise have always been great commercial successes, riding the coattails of the wildly popular books. The games' publisher, Electronic Arts, has boldly attempted to branch out from the action adventure games by creating a "sports" game based on the fictional sport of quidditch, which is described in the various Harry Potter books and depicted in the films. While Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup is a decent first effort at simulating the chosen sport of wizards, it falls short of its promise primarily because of sluggish controls and shallow gameplay.
Quidditch is analogous to soccer.
For those who aren't familiar with the Harry Potter books or films, quidditch is roughly analogous to airborne soccer. Seven players on each team ride broomsticks around a huge arena while chasing and interacting with four balls that are in play simultaneously. Three vertical hoops of varying height stand on each end of the oval field, or "pitch," as it's called. These hoops represent the goal-scoring area for each team.
Three players on a team take the "chaser" position; their role is similar to that of a forward on a soccer or hockey squad. Their primary responsibility is to score goals through the hoops using the quaffle, which is one of the balls in play. Each goal is worth 10 points. Two other players on each team are the "beaters," and their role has no equivalent in any other sport. The beaters are armed with small bats, which they use to swat at two magically propelled balls, called bludgers. The bludgers will randomly attack the players on the pitch--the beaters' duty is to protect their own players from the bludgers while using their bats to try to encourage the bludgers to go after the other team. One player is the "keeper," and as the name suggests, the keeper's job is to play goalie near the vertical hoops and prevent any goals. Finally, the seventh player on each team plays as the "seeker." The seeker's job is to keep an eye out for a tiny and elusive ball called the golden snitch. Like the bludgers, the snitch is magically self-propelled. A match of quidditch continues until the golden snitch is caught; the seeker who snatches it earns 150 points for his or her team.
The books and films have always portrayed quidditch as a chaotic spectacle. With 14 players zipping around on lightning-fast broomsticks while chasing and dodging four balls in play, quidditch is obviously a very complex sport. In an attempt by the developers to simplify the game for the younger audience, who will likely be the primary players of Quidditch World Cup, you'll directly control the chasers and the seeker only. You don't seem to get any control over the keeper, and your interaction with the beaters is limited to pressing the bludger button, which will cause one of your beaters to launch a bludger at the opposing chasers. From there you control only the bludger as you try to collide with the enemy quaffle-carrier.
The game does a good job of easing you into the game of quidditch and teaching you the fundamentals. The four-team tournament at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry serves as an extended tutorial. First, you practice simple concepts like passing, shooting, and tackling, and then you are allowed to play a game against one of the other houses at Hogwarts. After that, bludgers and special moves are introduced, and another game in the house tournament is played, until finally you are indoctrinated with the concept of combo passes, and the final tutorial game is played with all features enabled. If you should win the round-robin tournament at Hogwarts against the other houses, the World Cup will be unlocked, and you'll be able to choose from nine different world teams including the US, England, Australia, and Germany and play in that round-robin tournament for the World Cup.
You'll meet many recognizable characters along the way.
Quidditch World Cup also does a good job of including recognizable characters from the books and movies. Potter serves as the seeker for Gryffindor, with the Weasley twins at the beater positions. Malfoy is the recognizable jerk playing seeker for Slytherin, while Harry's love interest, Cho, is the seeker for Ravenclaw. As you advance into the World Cup, Ludo Bagman, the international head of wizard sports, handles the play-by-play announcing.
Quidditch World Cup's primary flaw lies in its control, which often feels sluggish. The game doesn't seem to do a very good job of capturing the speed of the game as it was portrayed in the films. Instead of feeling the freedom of flight, your players often feel more like they're slogging through a thick soup. No turbo button exists to speed up your players. While you won't always want to fly at the same speed, it seems as if the computer decides arbitrarily how fast you can fly or how sharply you'll be allowed to turn. Passing is also imprecise. You have control over the direction of your pass using the directional stick, but oftentimes your teammates will inexplicably leave their passing lanes just as you throw the quaffle. Expect to turn the ball over frequently and not always know why. The console versions all control similarly, but PC players who lack a gamepad may find the keyboard and mouse control a bit tricky, though not unlearnable.
Even if the gameplay is a bit shallow, Quidditch World Cup does a pretty good job of visual presentation. All of the pitches in the game are beautifully presented, including Hogwarts' pitch in the summer and winter and all of the nine international pitches. The Japanese quidditch pitch is one of the more impressive ones, set over top of a shallow koi pond with delicate bridges arcing over it. The Nordic team plays within a wall of glaciers; you can see the cold breath of the players as they breathe out during the cutscenes. The graphics quality between the consoles is pretty comparable--there are no significant differences to speak of, although the Xbox and PC versions are a tad sharper. The sound in the game didn't fare quite as well, with the music being somewhat overdramatic and the play-by-play announcing from Bagman and Lee Jordan (during Hogwarts matches) being extremely repetitive.
Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup is a pretty decent first effort at simulating the fictional sport of quidditch. However, the developers have definitely left plenty of room for improvement. With tighter controls and a little bit more effort put into deeper, more strategic gameplay, Quidditch World Cup might have turned out to be a very good game. As it stands, the game will primarily appeal to hardcore Harry Potter fans who are willing to overlook the flaws.

In this Game “Driver” you play the wheel man for hire in various missions around cities such as Miami and San Francisco. Several Thuggish Game Modes
Driver offers several ways to experience the game such as missions, free play, or undercover (the story mode). In mission mode you are allowed to select from a variety of missions including pursuit, getaway, and destruction. In destruction mode your goal is to cause as much damage to the surroundings as you can in the allowed time. Missions are received on your answering machine in story mode and can be accepted or saved for later.
If you just want to drive around causing havoc then free play is the choice for you. Free play allows you to pick a city and just roam the streets at will without timers or missions. In all modes your car does have a limit to how much damage it can take before you must start over so keep that in mind when you're deciding whether or not to ram the car in front of you.
It's a Challenge Outrunning the Cops
The large size and variety of maps mean there will be plenty of exploring for you to do in free play. Running from the police can be a game in itself. Using high speed maneuvers in an effort to “lose your tail” is one of the most challenging aspects of this game. In addition to practicing your getaway skills, you can also become better acquainted with the map. Knowing the map can make missions easier during the story mode.
Lack of Instructions are a Bummer
Driver does have a few drawbacks. The game doesn't make this clear, but the first screen you come to is the main menu and has the options tab to make any adjustments to controls, sound, video and so on.
At first the game can be frustratingly difficult if you are unfamiliar with the terms used (slalom, speed, brake check) . You are given a list of actions to perform with your car before you can continue and a one minute timer in which to complete them. No other instructions are given so the player is left to their own devices to figure out what to do. Once you have completed the assigned tasks in your one minute timer you can be assured that you are now a professional driver worthy of any of the game's challenges.
Conclusion - Story and Freeplay are Where It's At
Driver offers an experience full of high speed chases, precision driving techniques and lots of destruction. Storyline missions and free roam play make a winning combination. So as long as you stick to a combination of storyline and free play this game will provide nearly unlimited entertainment.
